Gardening, dogs, preserving, contemplation

Global warming; animals, birds, and plants facing extinction; pollution and degradation of our water-ways, and de-forestation are contemporary issues which, as a New Zealander, impact on me greatly. I realise, of course that nothing I do will ever actually affect these issues, but I believe that each of us needs to take some responsibility for reducing our personal carbon footprint, no matter how small an effort each person makes.

Growing and preserving food, biking everywhere I can, and reducing the amount of rubbish I create and the amount of plastic I use is how I’ve started to reduce my own footprint.

Writing about those things here is what this site is for. Hopefully it might inspire someone else to do have a think about what they can do to reduce their footprint.
